Why are people getting emotional over the Oscar Grant situation?
Let the wheels of justice determine the outcome not emotion, riots and destruction of property. People, Asians, Whites and Arabs in Oakland work hard and save to own their stores and maintain their property and don't need a bunch of untamed Blacks rioting and destroying their stores and property. The National Guard should be sent to Oakland and shoot to kill without questions asked! Oakland needs a Mayor like Rizzo was in Philadelphia. He knew how to handle the Blacks. If this were Italy the Police and Army would have crushed this rebellion. We need more tough Mayors like Rizzo and Giuliani.

Now what you said is racist in its own. Sure I agree whore-heartedly with you that riots aren't the way to solve these kinds of things but you also have to take into consideration that a life was lost because of racial profiling. If these so called "untamed blacks" know the only way to speak their freedom is to riot, then so be it. But be prepared to stop them, without "shoot to kill without questions asked", because that is exactly what happened in the Oscar Grant situation.

Being emotional and protesting is understandable. I don't disagree with the move but expressing their emotions in rage against random innocent victims is wrong. Not only will these protesters not gain more support but resentment from victims who could care less about the shooting now. Small business owners have to pay around 600 dollars to repair windows and thousands of dollars for vehicle/property damages. I saw a women broke down in tears when she saw her car was burning in flames. I have relatives living in Oakland and they're frightened to go outside or leave sight of their properties. I'm more infuriated with these violent riots than showing sympathy for the death of Oscar. These so called protesters want justice but then they go do something entirely unjust on innocent victims. If this keeps up, I might have to agree with you, send out the army and take action to immobilize these bad guys.

All I can say is "wow". You seem to hate blacks a lot. The people in Oakland are "rebelling" against the murderous police. That boy was killed in cold blood. He was cooperating. He was doing everything the police told him to do. And he was a victum in the incident that started the entire thing. Personally I think the cop that shot him should be lynched.

first off if you wasnt ignorantly racist, it wasnt only blacks, asians/mexicans/whites also joined the protest which became a riot.and also participated in the riot. im not saying that it isnt right, but if they dont want it to happen, dont kill an unarmed man that was laying down on his stomach with his hands behind his back. they protested the everyone ignored, what other things can they do to get attention and be heard? after the riot the bart started to respond. shows how much you know

Why. BECAUSE A MAN WAS SHOT IN THE BACK LAYING ON THE GROUND BY A POLICE OFFICER WHO WAS SO WRONG IN DOING THIS. IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE VIDEO THEN YOU NEED TO GO AND LOOK AT IT. YOU CAN TELL THAT THE OFFICER WHO SHOT THE POOR MAN WAS LIKE WTF DID I JUST DO. THE OFFICER IS WRONG AND SHOULD BE TAKEN TO PRISION.

im from oakland, and i know how tough it can be to live out there. there are too many murders committed by the citizens already, we look to people like the police to help us, so when an officer, who is suppose to protect us, kills one of our people...yes, we get angry. this man cannot get away with this. it's not just the fact that he killed this poor man, it's the fact that this cop is out free, still alive, living his day-to-day life like nothing ever happened. i do agree that Oakland should stop the riots and just protest peacefully, but that just how the people in Oakland behave.

They need better play at the corner opposite Asomugha, and a run stuffing defensive tackle. Routt and Johnson aren't bad, but they are more of a nickel and dime corners versus starters. John Henderson seems to be passed his prime, and Tommy Kelly is better at rushing the passer than he is at stopping the run. But their first priority should be to resign Richard Seymour, and work from there.

You are going to want 4 star restaurants. I live downriver but grew up and lived in North Oakland County for 36 years. I know for a fact of a 4 star restaurant because my cousin owns it but unfortunately, I don't know you personally so I couldn't refer you. Have you checked with restaurants in Birmingham and Northville?

No. You may want to get a DBA (Doing Business As) from your local courthouse but you do not need that either. When it comes tax time you will just need to fill out the proper forms for self employment. Even though you will not be a "registered business" you can still enjoy the tax benefits of self employment. You should be fine to do business, as yourself, without an issue. NOTE: I am not a CPA or lawyer. If you are unsure about the laws and regulations in your area you should consult a lawyer.

oakland police department explorer program? anybody in it, or know anything about it?
Has anybody been in it/is in it? Or works in Oakland PD. I've turned in an Application for the Oakland PD and am just wondering what's next to come? I also am dealing with my mom stressing a little about it.. since it is OAKLAND, and the crime rate is high there... she thinks I have to work in OAKLAND PD if I continue to be a Cop when the time comes. Is it possible to be in the Oakland Explorer Program and then try out to be a Sheriff - because doing Sheriff Work is my biggest dream and yeah. PS: There is no Explorer Program in our Sheriff Dept., so I signed up for the closest thing which is Oakland.

If the explorer program is anything like the one I was in, then you can be an officer anywhere you want. OR if your like me, I did it just for fun. I never intended to be an officer. But I loved the program. It taught me alot, but also gave me great friends, whom were great influences during what could have been hard teenage years. Good luck, and I hope you meet some great friends that last a life time. God bless
